How It Works

You play. This remembers.

JourneyChronicle is a public reading room for people who play World of Warcraft: Forever. An addon keeps the session. A companion app carries the log. The site turns that log into a chapter and keeps each character's story where the player, and anyone they allow, can read it.

  1. Install the addon

In the game, install the JourneyChronicle addon. While you play, it writes down the session: zone and subzone, levels gained, fights, loot, and deaths. You do not have to stop and take notes. Playing is the record.

  2. Play

Go where you were already going. The chronicle is not a quest guide, and it does not play the game for you. It remembers the session you actually had, including the ugly stretches and the walk back.

  3. The companion app uploads your log

After the session, the companion app sends the log to JourneyChronicle. You choose when a session is ready to become a chapter. A story is not filed until that log is uploaded.

  4. Chapters appear on your character's page

The site writes a chapter of about eight hundred words and keeps it with your character. The newest chapter is the front of the book. Older chapters stay in the contents, and you turn back to them like pages. People can read their own stories and browse the ones left open on the table.

Public or private

  • Public

The story is listed in the reading room. Anyone may open the book and follow the character from chapter to chapter.

  • Private

The story stays with the player who lived it. It is not put out for strangers, and it does not appear in the index of chronicles.
